GYO 3 Traffic Jam, Glyndebourne Open Day 2008

Glyndebourne Youth Opera 3 meets six Sundays per term in the Autumn and Spring terms. It aims to devise its own work as a company from initial ideas through to a finished performance. The participants explore a range of story-telling techniques through a broad variety of musical genres, at the same time developing skills in devising, performing and critical analysis using a number of creative start points.
Glyndebourne Youth Opera 3 is the only group where participants are asked to audition, however, the emphasis is not on talent but on enthusiasm and commitment. As well as experiencing a workshop audition, participants will have a short interview where they will be asked to consider what they would like to achieve in the coming term and what qualities they feel they will bring to the group. This is one of the many aspects of group 3 that aims to move towards a professional company experience.
