GYO 1 Bread and Pebbles performance, Glyndebourne Open Day 2008

Glyndebourne Youth Opera 1 meet four Sundays per term in the Autumn and Spring terms. It is the foundation group, taking young people to the point where they are ready to progress to the next group. All participants are expected to try new things, and all sessions will include:
- Singing: learning and performing songs as a disciplined chorus.
- Performing: working through games and exercises to devise new material.
- Making: using materials to explore the visual dimension of opera.
- Sharing: giving feedback to others (and receiving it!) about what has been created together.

Ali Campbell Artistic Director
Ali is an artist, teacher and animateur with interests in applied drama, community-based performances and educational theatre. He has co-ordinated outreach projects for the Borough of Tower Hamlets, the British Museum, the English National Opera, Glyndebourne, and the National Theatre.
Jozik Koc Music Director
Conductor and animateur Jozik has devised projects for a variety of arts organisations including Welsh National Opera, the Royal Opera, ENO Baylis and the De La Warr Pavilion. He is a national choral trainer for Youth Music and vocal project co-ordinator for East Sussex Music service.
