In 2008 six schools and youth groups from London and Brighton worked with artists from Glyndebourne and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment to create a new film based on Claudio Monteverdi's L’incoronazione di Poppea which was shown before the Prom performance of L’incoronazione di Poppea on July 31st 2008. There will be another opportunity to see the film at the opening of the OAE’s new home at Kings Place, London, on Friday 3 October 2008.

Annually, Glyndebourne Education and the Education Department at the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment collaborate to deliver a project in schools in East Sussex and London. These projects are based around a festival production that the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment are playing for.

In 2007 this project was inspired by Gioacchino Rossini’s La Cenerentola and involved children aged 9-11 from ten primary schools in London, Abingdon and Brighton. The participants worked with professional artists to create scenes and choruses for their own mini-opera, Angelina and the Beggar in Disguise. Six of the participant schools came to Glyndebourne to watch the cover showing of the Festival production of La Cenerentola in July, while all ten schools came together for a sharing day to perform their work in London.
