Glyndebourne Education is pleased to be able to offer two workshop days for teachers to complement the 2008 Performances for Schools. These sessions are designed for music, drama and performing arts teachers and will be led by an experienced team of workshop leaders from Glyndebourne. It is an opportunity for teachers to delve deeper into operas and develop a unique insight into the productions at Glyndebourne with a view to enhancing the experience of students.
Teachers workshops to complement Performances for Schools 2008:
Carmen
Thursday 3 July (1pm – 9pm)
The afternoon workshop for Carmen will be followed in the evening by the opportunity to attend the final rehearsal of the 2008 Festival production of Carmen.
Cost: £30 per teacher, including an interval picnic.
The Magic Flute and Hänsel und Gretel
Tuesday 16 September (10am – 5pm)
This workshop day will explore both operas.
Cost: £30 per teacher, including lunch.
Further Details
Learn practical and creative ways of introducing opera to primary, secondary and sixth form students.
Objectives:
- To enable you to prepare your students for attending an Performance for Schools at Glyndebourne.
- Enhance your understanding of the production.
- Cover skills suitable for practical work in the performing arts.
- Introduce resources to support these skills.
