The Fairy Queen

Purcell’s masque, first performed in 1692, is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night's Dream. The original score was lost after Purcell’s death and not rediscovered in the early twentieth century. It debuted at Glyndebourne in 2009 to critical acclaim.
