Applications are now open for Glyndebourne’s next Young Composer-in-Residence.
The position is a three year, part-time residency for an emerging composer, starting in January 2018.
The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to immerse themselves in the work of Glyndebourne and observe the creation of new operas, as well as create new work of their own.
Based within Glyndebourne’s prestigious education department, the Young Composer-in-Residence will also involve themselves in Glyndebourne’s broader artistic, learning and audience development activities.
An annual bursary of £17,000 is provided to cover time, expenses and any work composed for Glyndebourne during the residency.
Applicants must be willing to be based in the UK during their three years in post, and be under 30 years old on 7 July 2017. Full eligibility criteria, and information on how to apply, can be found here.
