Glyndebourne Tour 2012 sets out on a nine week tour of the UK from 4 October beginning at Glyndebourne, the Tour then goes on to visit; Woking, Norwich, Wimbledon, Covent Garden (Linbury Studio), Plymouth, Canterbury, Milton Keynes and Stoke-on-Trent.
The Glyndebourne Tour blends exciting new talent and exceptionally high production standards, offering something for everyone, whether an opera newcomer or a seasoned aficionado.
In addition to two main stage productions, Le nozze di Figaro and Rusalka , Glyndebourne are also touring a contemporary chamber opera The Yellow Sofa , and we continue to reach out to digital audiences through cinema screenings of Giulio Cesare which are added to the Tour for the first time in its 44 year history.
The 2012 Tour will be the last to feature Jakub Hrusa as Music Director, during his three-year tenure he has inspired wonderful performances from the Glyndebourne Tour Orchestra and the many talented young artists who form the backbone of the company.
