Andrei Bondarenko wins Cardiff Singer of the World Song Prize 2011

Glyndebourne is delighted to hear that Andrei Bondarenko won the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Song Prize at the ceremony last night.

The 23 year-old will make his Glyndebourne debut on this year’s Tour as Maltesta in the new production of Don Pasquale – tickets for which are now on sale.

Despite his young age, Bondarenko has already won many other prizes in international competitions, including the 2006 International Rimsky-Korsakov competition and first prize at the international vocal competition Art in the 21st Century in Vorzel (Ukraine).

He made a real impact whilst part of the Salzburg Festival Young Artists Programme 2009 where he worked intensively with Michael Schade and took Masterclasses with Christa Ludwig, Marjana Lipov
